HMS Pathfinder was a Royal Navy Scout Cruiser that was torpedoed by the German submarine U21 in the North Sea off St Abbs Head on 5th September 1914. It was the first warship ever to be sunk by a U-boat. The ship sank in 4 minutes with the loss of 260 men.
